From the vibrant nightlife of Nairobi to the glamorous stages of Milan, Kenyan Afro-House trailblazer Jack Rooster is taking his sound to one of Europe’s most influential music capitals.
In a landmark moment for East African electronic music, the DJ, producer and cultural curator is set to make his highly anticipated Milan debut, opening for South African Amapiano sensation Uncle Waffles at the iconic JustMe Club.
The performance marks another major milestone in Jack Rooster’s growing international journey, showcasing Kenyan talent on a global stage and bringing Afro-House to a new audience in the heart of Italy’s fashion and entertainment capital.
Born and raised in Nairobi, Jack Rooster emerged as one of the earliest champions of the Afro-House movement. A former music collector turned DJ and producer, he quickly rose through Nairobi’s club circuit before launching the popular weekly radio show Caffè Mocha on HBR 103.5 FM and creating Kenya’s #1 electronic music podcast, Deeper Sounds of Nairobi.
His 2019 debut album Nyumba became a landmark release, fusing authentic Kenyan sounds with global house grooves and earning him festival stages across Africa.

Five years ago, Jack relocated to Italy, where he has since built an impressive European footprint with residencies at luxury venues including Soho House Rome, Edition Rome, Mama Shelter Roma, and Hotel Intercontinental. He has shared bills with Afro-House and Amapiano heavyweights such as Black Coffee, Shimza and Tyler ICU, and performed at major festivals from Amsterdam Dance Event in Amsterdam to GONDWANA in Nairobi.
The JustMe Milan date represents a major career breakthrough: Jack’s first time performing in the fashion capital and a rare opportunity to open for Uncle Waffles, whose Amapiano movement has dominated global charts and dancefloors. The night promises a powerful cultural collision – raw Kenyan Afro-House energy meeting South African Amapiano fire on one of Milan’s most exclusive stages.

Jack’s momentum continues into summer. Starting this May, he will take up high-profile residencies in both Ibiza(Spain) and Rome (Italy), bringing his signature sound to the world’s most prestigious club calendars. Tickets for the JustMe Milan show are on sale now.
“This is more than a gig – it’s a full-circle moment. From the clubs of Nairobi to the rooftops of Rome and now in Milan alongside Uncle Waffles… the rooster is ready to crow on a bigger stage. Can’t wait to give Milan that Kenyan-Italian fire.” Rooster said.
