L’Oréal Kenya today made history by unveiling Azziad Nasenya, one of East Africa’s most beloved digital icons, as the first Kenyan ever appointed as the face of a Garnier product in East Africa.
The announcement was made alongside the official launch of the Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser, a 2-in-1 innovation that cleanses and brightens skin, delivering visibly more radiant skin from the very first wash.
Azziad’s appointment marks the first time in Garnier’s history that a Kenyan has been named as the face of one of its products. This is a significant milestone that signals a decisive shift in how global beauty brands choose to engage with African consumers. Her authenticity, confidence, and deep connection to Kenya’s youth make her the embodiment of what this product stands for: bold, innovative, and radiant.
“When I was told I would be the first Kenyan face of Garnier, I was elated. Not because of what it means for me, but because of what it means for every young Kenyan girl who has ever looked at a global beauty campaign and not seen herself in it. She’s there now,” remarked Azziad Nasenya, Brand Ambassador, Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser

Unlike conventional bar soaps and face washes, the Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser is formulated to both cleanse and actively brighten the skin in a single step with one bottle of serum in a wash. Its gentle, pH-balanced formula respects the skin’s natural barrier, making it a scientifically superior alternative to bar soap, which was never designed for the delicate needs of facial skin.
“When L’Oréal walked me through the science behind this product, I was genuinely amazed. The idea that my daily cleanser is actively brightening my skin at the same time? That is the kind of innovation that changes everything,” Azziad concluded.
The campaign dubbed “Dust ni Constant. Glow ni Choice.” is rooted in the daily realities of Nairobi life: pollution, sun, and the relentless pace of the city. It frames the shift from bar soap to serum cleanser not as a critique, but as an empowering upgrade that every Kenyan deserves.
The launch took place as a high-energy foam party at Emara Ole Sereni, a sensory, shareable activation that translated the product’s science and signature lathering experience into a live event moment.

“This launch signifies two powerful moments, a historic Kenyan first and a product whose science is genuinely world-class at a pocket friendly price. The Garnier Even & Bright Serum Cleanser is proof that L’Oréal is committed to delivering real innovation for Kenyan skin,” added Marie Van Haesendonck, Managing Director, L’Oréal East Africa.
